App design and development in Monaco
We design the app, then stay on the build with the developers who write the code, until the day it launches.

Work that shows it
What we do, and who writes the code
InStudio is a creative studio in Monaco at a human scale. On a mobile app or web app project, we do two jobs. First we design the product: what it is for, who uses it, which features come first, and how every screen looks and behaves. Then we oversee its development. The code is written by an external development team, and we follow its work until launch. We do not claim to write it all ourselves, and you should know who writes your code before you hire anyone.
So you deal with a studio that knows the design down to the last button, and that stays on the project until the app is in your users’ hands.
UX and UI design for mobile and web apps
Product consulting comes first. Before drawing a single screen, we work out with you what the app has to do, for whom, and what can wait for a later version. Some products belong on the phone. Others work better as a web app that opens in a browser, with nothing to install. Many need both: an app for your customers on one side, and a web app for the people who run the service on the other.
Then comes the user experience (UX): the paths a person takes, from opening the app to finishing what they came to do. And the interface (UI): the screens, the components and the states in between, such as an empty basket, a declined payment or a slow connection. We design these as one set of shared parts, so the development team builds from a single system rather than from a pile of separate pictures.
How a project runs
It starts with a brief: what you need, the systems the app must talk to, the languages it speaks and who signs off on your side. We then agree the scope and design the key screens first, so you can judge the direction before we draw the rest. The design is done screen by screen, edge cases included, and ends in files prepared for the developers.
During the build, the external team writes the code. We hand them the designs, answer their questions and check each version against what was agreed. We stay on through launch, and if you want it, we also make the content that announces it: ads, film and photography. The handover is settled with you at the start: what you receive at the end, and who looks after the app once it is live.
The work
eatin Monaco is a delivery app in Monaco co-founded by Leo de Bruyn, who also founded InStudio, so we know it from the inside. We designed the UI and UX of its four connected apps (customer, driver, restaurant and admin) and oversaw their development with an external team through to launch on 14 September 2026.
For Visit Genova, a city guide app for Genoa, we designed the brand identity and the app interface in 2024. Palaces, beaches and restaurants share one page layout, so once you know one page, you know them all.
Sometimes a website does the job. For Findr. by Interalia, a real estate agency in Monaco, we designed and built a site that took its listings straight from the agency’s own software, so nobody had to copy them over by hand. Our web design page covers that kind of project.
For corporate teams
We work to your sign-off process, with written approval at each stage and versions your legal or compliance team can review before anything goes live.
If the product is confidential, we can work under your non-disclosure agreement.
An app that holds accounts, addresses or payment details processes personal data. In Monaco that falls under Law 1.565 on personal data protection. We design screens and forms that ask only for what the app needs, and we settle with you and your advisers what is collected and who can see it.
We also design for accessibility: readable contrast, text that can grow, labels for screen readers, and respect for the setting that reduces motion on your device. This site is built the same way: fast, bilingual, accessible, and calm when your device asks for less movement.
If you have an app in mind, or one that needs rethinking, tell us about it.

Questions
Who writes the code?
An external development team. We design the product and oversee the build through to launch, and we do not claim to write all the code ourselves. eatin Monaco's four apps were built this way, up to their launch on 14 September 2026.
Do you design web apps as well as mobile apps?
Yes. For eatin Monaco we designed a customer app and a driver app, plus two web apps: one for restaurants and one for admin.
Can you also design the brand and the launch campaign?
Yes. For Visit Genova we designed the brand identity as well as the app interface. For eatin Monaco we rebuilt the identity as eatin 2.0 and made the ads and the film for the app launch.
Which languages do you work in, and where?
English, French and Italian, for clients in Monaco, on the Riviera, in Genoa and further. Visit Genova is a guide to Genoa, and its brand book is written in Italian.
